Hi.
My name is Jillian (if you haven’t gathered that already). Film offers many gifts, and after picking up my first film camera 7 years ago, I haven’t looked back.
I have fallen in love with the intimacy that comes from this art form, for how photography can make people feel seen, how it can capture the feeling and stories of a place, and for how film can capture emotion and what people are feeling in their heart at that moment in time.
With film comes imperfection. Blur, light leaks, grain, and over/under/double exposure are all things you will find in my photographs below. But over the last while I’ve come to appreciate these as offerings, as an alternative way to see the world through my lens.
